Dr. Peters is currently the Senior Clinical Consultant in Psychology at the Barrington Psychiatric Center. Since 1986, she has provided evaluations, consultation, and expert testimony, on behalf of both defense and plaintiffs, in a range of Civil cases. She specializes in the areas of employment litigation (sexual harassment, age discrimination, racial discrimination, and ADA issues), personal injury, and the psychological impact of physical injury and disability. Dr. Peters also conducts psychological evaluations in Workers' Compensation cases, and is certified as a Qualified Medical Evaluator by the Industrial Medical Council. Dr. Peters provides individual psychotherapy in cases of workplace stress and trauma, and is part of the Barrington Psychiatric Center's trauma debriefing team. She speaks to groups of attorneys and insurance examiners on a range of topics pertaining to workplace injury and litigation. In the past, Dr. Peters has directed the Barrington Psychiatric Center's Training Program for Professionals, and the Quality Assurance Program for professional services. Dr. Peters received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at UCLA, where she was the recipient of the National Institute of Mental Health Fellowship, and completed her internship at the Neuropsychiatric Institute. She has done research in areas relating to childhood sexual abuse and depression. In addition to her work at the Barrington Psychiatric Center, Dr. Peters maintains a clinical practice, treating individuals and couples, and also provides consulting services to mental health professionals and faculty members in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
