Dr. Zakin is a Senior Psychologist at the Barrington Psychiatric Center. In addition to conducting medical-legal evaluations and providing psychological treatment he has served as the Barrington Center's Treatment Director. His clinical specialty is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and he has provided workshops and training on the diagnosis and treatment of this psychological condition. Currently, Dr. Zakin serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. He has also taught graduate level Psychotherapy courses at the California School of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Zakin has extensive experience as an expert witness and has testified on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. Civil cases in which he has been retained have involved a range of issues, including personal injury, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, long-term disability, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and racial discrimination. Attorneys with whom he has worked have appreciated his ability to communicate often complex psychological findings in clear, concise language that jurors understand.

Dr. Zakin received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1986. In 1987 he completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is a Qualified Medical Examiner and a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Medicine and the American Board of Forensic Examiners.
