David Allen Ph.D., QME

Dr. Allen is a psychologist at the Barrington Psychiatric Center. He conducts forensic evaluations of litigants suffering from and/or alleging a wide range of psychological disorders as a consequence of work related injuries and trauma. He has a private practice focused on the treatment of children and adults, and is an expert in psychometric testing for children and adults with ADHD and learning disorders.

Dr. Allen is on faculty at the California Graduate Institute, where he teaches ADHD diagnosis and treatment, Psychoanalytic theory of shame and Psychological Assessment. He is also pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship program at the fielding institute in neuropsychology and scheduled to complete in 2004. He has published in the Journal of Homosexuality on the topics of shame and internalized homophobia in gay men and Personality styles and defense mechanisms in the adjustment to homosexual identity.
