With the Barrington Psychiatric Center since 1985, Dr. Meisner has evaluated and assessed adults who claim a wide range of psychological injuries including: sexual harassment, racial discrimination, wrongful termination, toxic exposure and pscyhological damages caused by physical injury. He authored the chapter on psychological testing and assessment in the widely disseminated text, "Mental and Emotional Injuries in Employment Litigation" (McDonald and Kulick, 1994) Dr. Meisner has also published on the topic of malingering adn psychological assessment.
Dr. Meisner has over twenty years of assessment and treatment experience in psychiatric, medical and med/legal settings. He has treated adult patients suffering from mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic conditions, somatoform and pain disorders. Dr. Meisner has considerable experience in health settings in which psychological factros are a focus, such as in management of pain, chronic illness and stress. He is particularly knowledgeable and skilled in integrating cognitive and personality test data with clinical information for consideration in medical/legal settings.
Dr. Meisner is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School for Professional Psychology at Berkeley. He completed a post-doctoral fellowiship i health psychology at the V.A. Medical Center in San Francisco, where he focused o the interface between health and pscyhological difficulties.
